Regenerative Therapy of Periodontal Tissues
At Artistic Touch Dentistry, we believe the best periodontal therapy is preventive tooth and gum care! In some cases, however, genetic or environmental conditions can accelerate the onset of periodontitis, an inflammatory disease that causes loss of the tooth-supporting apparatus, including periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone.
While prosthodontists offer dental implants and other therapies, a regenerative approach could be the most promising pathway for future treatment developments. The body’s ability to regenerate tissue need only be explored further.
One new study indicates that the positions of appropriate bioactive matrices relative to the injury site may stimulate the innate regenerative stem cell populations, removing the need to deliver foreign stem cells or other medical interventions. If you’re concerned about the onset of periodontal disease and you think regenerative therapies could be the solution, contact us and the team at Artistic Touch Dentistry for the best in preventive care today!
