Three-Part Fluoride Strategy Works Best
At Artistic Touch Dentistry, we’re happy to report that the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs concluded that topical fluoride, used in conjunction with drinking optimally fluoridated water and using toothpaste with fluoride, is helpful in preventing tooth decay in patients at risk. This three-fold strategy is especially helpful for young children.
Topical fluoride is available at Artistic Touch Dentistry and is especially important for patients with a history of cavities or with deep grooves in the surfaces of their teeth. Fluoridated water is on tap through municipalities and can also be purchased at any grocery store. And fluoridated toothpaste is a great step for protecting your teeth and is part of your daily tooth-brushing regimen. Together, these elements help you prevent cavities and tooth decay with maximum efficiency.
